You are expected to meet all qualifications listed in a job description before beginning a position, but MCC provides ongoing personnel development opportunities. New hires receive local orientation with information specific to the role and MCC. In addition, each year MCC gathers groups of staff who are new or are moving into new roles or responsibilities in Akron, Pennsylvania, for in-depth orientation/staff training sessions.
Each year in April, July and October, MCC holds in-person staff training/orientation programs on the MCC campus in Akron, Pennsylvania. These are multiday, in-depth opportunities for participants to gain a broader overview of MCC, along with an intensive focus on learning, skill-building and deepening knowledge of MCC’s mission. These trainings are for those new to MCC and for staff, including staff who have served with MCC for many years, who are moving into new roles or growing in their responsibilities. A leadership seminar in July provides additional training for those in supervisory or program leadership roles.
