In a world that is full of violence, disconnection and polarization, spaces that offer healing, hope, connection and practical tools for actively building a different world are sorely needed. Young adults are especially hungry for hands-on learning about peace and justice.
MCC's National Peace and Justice Ministries (NPJM) is excited to share about opportunities for young adults this fall and winter! See below for an overview of each one.
These experiences are transformative. One participant from our Young Adult Peacebuilders Training at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in March 2022 said, “This training opened my eyes to issues I hadn’t been able to see or understand clearly and gave me the tools to start engaging with these issues.” Another participant reflected, “Seeing that there are other people who think and feel like I do about the ways of the world and the ways of God made me feel less alone or hopeless.”

Peace for the weary at Camp Deerpark, New York, January 2-7, 2023
With rising violence in the US and its pervasive systemic nature, our young adults are grappling with deep pain and trauma as they are simultaneously called to forge a different course ahead. This week-long peace camp will offer spaces and strategies for personal healing, repairing harm, participating in nonviolent intervention and finding hope when we feel surrounded by violence and destruction. Travel expenses will be covered and registration will cost $200.
