Dismukes Gala Fundraiser

This gala will spotlight the amazing story of Dr. Henry Dodford Dismukes, an African American physician in Kimball, West Virginia in the early 1900s. All funds raised at the gala will go directly towards rehabilitating the building that previously was the Henrietta Dismukes Nurses Home and has fallen into disrepair after decades of vacancy.

You're invited to the second annual Dismukes Gala Fundraiser at the Jack Caffery Arts & Cultural Center in Welch, West Virginia on Saturday, October 12, at 6 p.m. This event will feature live music from John Ellison with dinner provided by Latin Appalachia.

The gala will spotlight the amazing story of Dr. Our hope for the future of the building is that once it is fully rehabilitated, it will be repurposed for use by the local community.
