Continue to call for peace and restoration in Gaza

On March 18 Israel broke the ceasefire with Hamas, resumed military attacks in Gaza, and is once again blocking humanitarian assistance.

Since October 2023, MCC has supported its local partners to distribute emergency supplies, food parcels, and over 160,000 USD in cash assistance to thousands of vulnerable families in Gaza. However, the utter destruction of Gaza as a result of Israel’s 18-month onslaught (with U.S. funding and diplomatic support) has resulted in 83% of the population in Gaza requiring food assistance, a 94% reduction in the availability of clean water, and 1.6 million Palestinians living in makeshift shelters. With more than two-thirds of all buildings in Gaza destroyed, it could take 15 years to move all the rubble.

MCC calls for a Palestinian-led reconstruction and opposes any efforts to forcibly deport Palestinians in Gaza to other countries.

This is a critical moment to urge the U.S. Congress and the Trump administration to:

  • Increase humanitarian assistance rather than halting it.
  • Urge Israel to return to the ceasefire and halt the recent resumption of military action in Gaza.
  • Hold all parties accountable for the enormous level of death and destruction.
  • Insist on a Palestinian-led reconstruction of Gaza.
  • Support S.Res.68 denouncing a U.S. military takeover of Gaza
