MCC supports migrants forced to flee their countries because of war, persecution, violence and/or extreme poverty. Through our migration and resettlement program in Quebec, we support both sponsored refugees and asylum seekers in their integration and reconstruction process.

We work with our partner churches to offer refugees decent housing and financial, psychological and personal support during their first year of settlement. Although the official sponsorship lasts one year, the bonds created with the families hosted are often long-lasting and deeply transformative, both for the refugees and for the communities that welcome them.

We support churches in welcoming and integrating asylum seekers or other categories of immigrants in Quebec, who are also fleeing violence and insecurity in their countries of origin. We offer them orientation and integration workshops to better understand the Quebec systems (housing, health, education, employment) and direct them to the appropriate government services. We support them in their administrative procedures and offer them assistance in filling out the documents and forms related to their status.

Thanks to the volunteers involved in our churches, we also offer conversation sessions in French, support in job searching (CVs, cover letters, interview preparation), as well as support to better adapt to their new reality.
Finally, aware of the physical and moral wounds left by exile, we refer them to trauma healing workshops to help them move towards inner peace, rebuild their identity, and regain confidence in themselves and in the future.

“I was a stranger and you welcomed me... I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:35-40

Help us offer them a safe haven and the resources they need to rebuild their lives here in Quebec!
