Mennonite Central Committee Alberta Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Ryan Siemens to the role of Executive Director effective February 1, 2022.

Siemens, his wife Sandra, and their three boys live in Langham, Saskatchewan. He has served as Executive Minister for Mennonite Church Saskatchewan for the past six years.

Prior to this, Siemens served almost nine years as pastor of Grace Mennonite Church in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and was deeply committed to the ministry of Restorative Justice and Reconciliation.

Siemens holds a Master of Divinity from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, a Bachelor of Arts in Conflict Transformation Studies from Canadian Mennonite University, and a Bachelor of Theology from Canadian Mennonite Bible College. He is currently completing a certificate program in Conflict Management and Congregational Leadership through Conrad Grebel University College.

The MCC Alberta board and staff thank Dale Taylor who has served as the Interim Executive Director since May 2020. Dale has led with commitment and professionalism and we wish her well in her retirement.

Eileen Klassen-Hamm, Executive Director of MCC Saskatchewan will come alongside the staff and board to support the transition process until Siemens and his family settle in Alberta.

Siemens’ appointment comes at an important time as MCC Alberta prepares for the next 100 years of service in Relief, Development and Peace in the name of Christ.

“I’ve been deeply blessed to serve the Mennonite community in Saskatchewan over the last 15 years; first as pastor, and most recently as Executive Minister in MC Sask. Now I look forward to continuing my service to the Mennonite community by joining MCC Alberta.” Says Siemens, “I am excited and honoured to have this opportunity to lead this beloved organization and I solicit your prayers as our family makes this transition.”
