Hilda Dick would spend all year planning for Christmas, picking up trinkets for her nieces and nephews, excited for the joy that it would bring to their faces. Her life story is one of service.
When she was not at the Coaldale hospital, working as a Licenced Practical Nurse, Hilda spent her time in service to others. She also had a long family history of belonging to the MCC Thrift shop in Lethbridge where she volunteered.
Her niece Vivian Allert remembers her as someone who was dedicated to service and her faith beliefs.
“She was more Jesus-like than anyone I have ever met, always giving selflessly. She would have encouraged others to leave something behind for someone in need.”
Before she passed, her wish was for any funds that were left to go to MCC, both internationally and locally, as she was concerned about helping whoever she could.
Thank you Hilda. Your contribution has made such a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve – thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your donation has enabled MCC to work with 13 partner organizations in Lethbridge who support families and children. With your generous donation we have distributed clothing, toys, blankets, furniture and house wares as well as $7,635 in gift cards. Organizations like Rehoboth Christian Ministries, the YWCA, Harbour House and Lethbridge Family Services are among those who have been gifted. The legacy Hilda has left is being felt in homes and families throughout the Lethbridge area.
