Child-Friendly Spaces during war

The family of 9-year-old Haneen fled to Al Hmeira, Syria, when she was three, to escape the Syrian conflict. For the last three years, she has attended Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS).

In the village of Al Hmeira, 240 children attend CFS supported by MCC through partner, Fellowship of Middle East Evangelical Churches. Once or twice a week for four to six hours, CFS gives children the opportunity to build trust as they play together and participate in classes that encourage them to express their emotions through drama, art, music, and organized games.
