Border realities
May 05, 2020
On March 21st, 2020 the U.S. government closed the border to block the entrance to anyone seeking entry without proper documentation. This has forced many immigrants into precarious situations, including more exposure to the COVID-19 outbreak. Recent policies such as metering and the Migrant Protection Protocols or “Remain in Mexico” have created enormous backlogs of people who are waiting to enter the U.S.
In this webinar, we'll talk with MCC staff and partners, from across the southern U.S. Border, who will report from their fields and provide current information on what is happening with migrant communities at the border.
