More about Reserve 107: A Path Forward
The story of Reserve 107 is important for all Canadians. This story has been powerfully told in the 2016 documentary Reserve 107: Reconciliation on the Prairies. Much has happened in the years since that film was made, and now it’s time for an update. You can help to spread this story through your support of a new film: Reserve 107: A Path Forward.
This new documentary that shares the on-going story of the Stoney Knoll First Nation, Mennonites, and Lutherans as they work together to right the wrongs of the past, while also offering a heart-filled and thought-provoking model and inspiration for other communities across Canada / Turtle Island.
A Path Forward blends archival footage with powerful new interviews to capture the journey of the Stoney Knoll First Nation’s land claim—featuring visits to Ottawa, gatherings on their ancestral land, and the opening of a meaningful Interpretive Site. Most importantly, the film documents a historic milestone: the Canadian government’s acceptance of the claim in March 2024. This moment marks a new chapter for Stoney Knoll descendants and a vital story of truth and reconciliation that needs to be shared now.
