This local independent documentary explores stories of newcomers and Indigenous peoples who have experienced displacement and cultivated belonging in the traditional territories of the Stó:lō peoples (the Fraser Valley area).

The film weaves together the stories of newcomers and Indigenous peoples, as the original peoples of this land, exploring themes of displacement, belonging and cultural preservation. Through intimate interviews, "Common Territory" sheds light on their shared experiences of navigating and resisting assimilation into dominant Canadian culture, all while striving to maintain their distinctive cultural identities and connections to the land.

This screening event includes a panel Q&A with guest experts.
