Bolivia alumni event

On a sunny May afternoon in 2001, MCC workers Patrocinio Garvizu (from left), Doug Beane and Cresencia Garcia gathered with a local family in Juan Ramos, an isolated mountain community in Bolivia, to sort beans that were just harvested.

1985: MCC worker Erlinda Flores (left), works with a Mother's Club in her barrio “Heroes del Chaco” outside of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, in 1985, teaching them to make their own dress patterns.

2000: The soil in Rory Lewandowski's demonstration plot in Ivo, Bolivia in 2000, had not yet been prepared for planting. MCC workers Barry Bartel, Doug Beane (front line), Jayme Dyck and Matt Warfel (second line) who were visiting from far-away Santa Cruz had some fun while pulling the animal traction disk on which Lewandowski was seated.

1968. Pax man Kenneth Erb of Casselton, North Dakota, poses with a home-built forage chopper in Bolivia in 1968. He built it from an assortment of used items including cultivator beams, barrels, broken truck springs, etc. It cost 10 dollars and did the job.
