Do you ever feel like you're constantly working, doing more, but never quite getting ahead? Like there's never enough time, never enough money, and taking a break feels impossible

You're not alone, and it's not just a personal problem.

The pressure we feel is connected to larger systems of injustice that benefit from our exhaustion. This Peace Camp equips young adults with practical tools for both surviving these systems and working to transform them.

We can't build peace and justice if we're running on empty. This camp creates space to understand the systems behind our stress, explore how Jesus challenged similar systems in his time, and practice alternatives rooted in collective care and community.

Through honest conversation, biblical reflection, and hands-on workshops, we'll:

  • Understand what drives the pressure to do more, earn more, be more – and who benefits
  • Explore practical tools for managing time, money, and energy
  • Learn from Biblical practices of rest, debt forgiveness and economic reset
  • Practice collective care and mutual aid as peacebuilding
  • Build skills and community for sustained justice work

This isn't about adding more to your to-do list. It's about equipping ourselves for the long work of peacebuilding by examining the systems we're in, learning from Jesus' example, and discovering how shared resources and community care sustain us.

Registration Fee: For all New York City residents, the registration fee is $50.00. For all others, the fee is $250. Preference will be given to local participants.

Peace Camps are one way to encourage and support the next generation of the Church to live out an active faith as peacemakers. Young adults, ages 18-30, are invited to apply. MCC covers all costs of travel (does not include airfare outside of U.S. and Canada), lodging and meals beyond the $50 ($250) registration fee. We encourage churches, schools, families and friends to support participants in the registration fee where possible.
