More about Living Library
The MCC Living Library gives people the opportunity to have intentional conversations with other people they might not normally have access to. Participants will have the chance to ‘sign-out' a peacemaker for a 20-minute conversation on how they have worked to build peace in our community.
At MCC we work to build bridges of peace and reconciliation within all the programs we offer. We recognize that fear, mistrust, and stereotypes often grow out of the unknown and the unfamiliar.
Spaces like the Living Library can help us work towards unity and peace. We all hold multiple identities making us who we are, and the Living Library allows us to learn from the people around us in a safe and somewhat structured situation. It is important to note that the intent of Living Library is not to tokenize anyone, each book here represents only their own personal experiences and not the experiences of an entire group of people they may knowingly or unknowingly represent.
