This September, as world leaders discuss climate action at the United Nations in New York, people on every continent will join the largest-ever globally coordinated action to demand that governments end fossil fuels. The climate crisis is escalating but so is the global movement for climate justice. We need all hands on deck to win this fight.

Check the Fridays for Future Canada map for details about an action near you.

In 2019, hundreds of thousands of people marched across Canada as part of the event, organized by the youth collective Fridays for Future. The pandemic interrupted that momentum; let’s build it back again! For the Love of Creation (FLC) wants to support young people of faith participating in the global action.

FLC will provide an honorarium of $100/city for one or two individuals who are 25-years-old or under to help organize a group of people to participate in the Global Climate Strike on September 15, as well as a preceding multifaith prayer gathering. Learn more here.

This year, the For the Love of Creation Youth Climate Strike Advisory Team calls on all people of faith across Canada to “fold up” their commitment and send it to decision makers. Learn more about the Creation for Creation initiative and get folding!
