Join us in the borderlands of Southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. This MCC Borderlands Learning Tour will explore migration, borderland communities, and the impact of current immigration policies through the lenses of peacebuilding and hospitality in Christian scripture and tradition.

Registration Deadline: January 15, 2026

Registration Fee: $1000 (covers food, lodging, and local transportation during the learning tour; does not include airfare)

Through direct encounters and conversations with people and partner organizations:

  1. You will explore causes and motives for migration, as well as the experiences of people who migrate
  2. You will experience the cultural vitality, diversity, and interconnectedness of borderland communities that are home to people of different backgrounds, languages, and places of origin
  3. You will see the impact of border militarization and other policies that aim to deter border crossings or deny the right to asylum
  4. You will encounter Anabaptists and people of other faith communities who are actively involved in peacebuilding, relief, and development in the borderlands
  5. You will engage in theological reflection as you determine your own responses to the complexities and realities of migration in the borderlands and in your own communities.
