Grow Hope is an ecumenical project through which MCC raises funds for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB).

How Grow Hope works

  1. Farmers donate land and grow a crop for Grow Hope.

  2. You sponsor an acre to cover the costs of farming — seed, fertilizer and fuel (typical cost: $300–$500/acre).

  3. Farmers sell the harvest and donate the proceeds to CFGB, which can net as much as $600/acre or more; through CFGB's special arrangement with Global Affairs Canada, funds may be matched at up to 4:1.

  4. Funds support emergency food aid and long-term food security projects around the world.

Your gift multiplies

Your sponsorship grows and multiplies — just like the seeds planted by the farmer. For example, if you sponsor 1 acre at $400, your gift can provide up to $1,600 for food assistance with matching.
