About the program

New Foundations in Victoria, BC is a program for Canadian newcomers with children who have arrived in British Columbia within the last five years. It focuses on financial, life and job skills.

New Foundations is a program that focuses on equipping newcomers with financial, life and job skills. The program begins in early October and group workshops are held bi-weekly until the end of May. Monthly individual meetings are also held to assist participants with establishing and taking steps towards their goals, maintaining a budget and connecting them to other community resources.

New Foundations is designed for newcomers to Canada who have conversational English skills and basic reading/writing abilities, and who are currently unemployed or underemployed.

People who meet these criteria will receive priority, but we encourage other individuals to apply as well. Contact us if you have any questions or would like to discuss your eligibility.
