Phyllis Webstad, a member of the Northern Secwpemc (Shuswap) from the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation, is the founder of the Orange Shirt Society and a powerful voice in raising awareness about the impacts of the residential school system in Canada. She travels across the country sharing her story of resilience and healing, inspiring others through her experience. Phyllis has six books that share her story in her own words including The Orange Shirt Story and Today is Orange Shirt Day. Through her work, she reminds us all of the importance of truth, reconciliation, and healing.
