As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the United States; Mexico and Central American countries have taken serious approaches to keep their communities healthy. Strict curfews and a halt to international flights are measures that have been set in place to slow the spread of the virus. However, large amounts of immigrants detained in the U.S. have become exposed to the virus and continue to be deported to these Latin American countries. Because of social distancing efforts little to no access to social services or humanitarian aid is available to the returned migrants as they continue to arrive in countries that have dramatically changed.
