Students dig into global issues at UN Student Seminar

In New York City from November 2-4, forty-three undergraduate students from nine colleges in Canada and the US (mostly Anabaptist-related) participated in the MCC UN Student Seminar, "Ukraine and armed conflicts: Pursuing justice and peace.”

The students, from about 12 countries, toured the United Nations and engaged UN diplomats and MCC speakers working in Ukraine, Myanmar, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and New York City. Students had the opportunity to engage with Ambassador Ferit Hoxha (Permanent Representative of Albania to the United Nations in New York, serving on the UN Security Council), and their mutual energy and conviction led him to spend 90 minutes with the group instead of the pre-planned 45 minutes.
