MCC actively participates in the NGO Working Group on the Security Council, a group of 39 major NGOs that meets regularly with members of the United Nations Security Council, the UN’s most powerful body. Meetings in 2023 have included ambassadors from Ireland and Albania, as well as high-level UN officials from the department of political and peacebuilding affairs and the department of peace operations. MCC has received off-the-record briefings and raised concerns of high interest to MCC international programs.
