Earlier this year, these men unloaded boxes of oil in a Syrian town that were used as part of food packages distributed in Syria. They are unnamed for their security. Throughout the past two and half years of civil unrest in Syria, Mennonite Central Committee has been distributing food, blankets, hygiene supplies and other support to Syrians who have been affected by the violence.

This Syrian girl, whose name is withheld for security reasons, was singing, playing musical chairs and painting on the March day when MCC visited the temporary Lebanon community where she lives. Zakaa Mohamad Khalid, a Syrian refugee arrived in Lebanon about three months ago after fleeing from her burning home in Homs with nothing, not even documentation. MCC provides material resources to many refugees like Khalid, helping them to retain some dignity as they adjust to living in refugee settlements.
