This Syrian girl, whose name is withheld for security reasons, was singing, playing musical chairs and painting on the March day when MCC visited the temporary Lebanon community where she lives. The activities were coordinated by MCC’s partner, Development for People and Nature Association, to bring a sense of normalcy and pleasure into the lives of refugee children.

Zakaa Mohamad Khalid, a Syrian refugee arrived in Lebanon about three months ago after fleeing from her burning home in Homs with nothing, not even documentation. MCC provides material resources to many refugees like Khalid, helping them to retain some dignity as they adjust to living in refugee settlements.
