Through MCC’s account at Canadian Foodgrains Bank, fields have been rented and purchased so that people living in Mubimbi camp in the Democratic Republic of the Congo can plant their own gardens and grow food together in the communal fields.
However, the yield is not enough to give displaced families consistent access to food. To help fill the gaps, Église du Christ au Congo – Ministère de l'Eglise pour les Réfugiés et les Urgences (Church of Christ in Congo – Ministry of Refugees and Emergencies) also distributes food provided by MCC four times a year.
