Asylum & Immigration Detainee Kits show love and care to people released from detention centers.  Kits containing clothing and hygiene products can help adults and children to rebuild their dignity as they transition into life outside the detention center.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV)

As the U.S. continues to meter asylum seekers along the Northern Mexican border, more and more families are having to wait to speak with U.S. officials. Some asylum-seeking families are waiting 3-5 months in border towns with little to no resources.

West Coast MCC is showing Christ love to immigrants by providing asylum & immigration kits to those recently released from detention centers. Kits containing clothing and hygiene products can help to rebuild their dignity as they wait to enter the U.S.

West Coast MCC is partnering with Catholic Community Services: Casa Alitas,        The INN Project, Kino Border Initiative, Voices From the Border, Frontera de Cristo and other partners to distribute kits to people as they wait in Mexico to speak with U.S. officials, and those who are leaving detention facilities and are taken to bus stations or airports to reconnect with their families.
