Dr. Chris Rice, director
Chris joined the MCC UN Office in New York City in 2019. The prior five years Chris and his wife Donna served as MCC Co-Representatives for Northeast Asia, including working on both sides of the divide between South Korea and North Korea. Previously Chris served 10 years as cofounding director of the Duke Divinity School Center for Reconciliation. Chris has written three award-winning books: Reconciling All Things (co-authored with Emmanuel Katongole), the memoir Grace Matters, and More Than Equals: Racial Healing for the Sake of the Gospel (co-authored with Spencer Perkins). His writing has appeared in the Christian Century, Christianity Today, and Sojourners. Chris has Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Duke Divinity School.

Derek Lee, program and communications coordinator
Derek joined the MCC UN office in 2020 after earning his Master in Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs. Prior to that, Derek worked in service learning and education with high school students of color in Chicago's South Side and worked with MCC in Nepal for his SALT term in 2015-2016. He has also worked as a humanitarian cash fellow and consultant for Catholic Relief Services between 2019-2020, advising on their refugee response in Bangladesh and Uganda. Derek earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Wheaton College, Ill., in 2015. He currently lives with his wife in New York City.
Kristine Schroeder, administrative assistant
Kristine began working with the MCC United Nations office as a part-time administrative assistant in July of 2020. This is in addition to her role with MCC Canada as travel administrative assistant, providing support for service workers and national staff within MCC's International Program. Kristine first started at MCC Canada in late 2018 after returning home from Thailand, where she served with an international anti-human trafficking organization from 2016-2018. Prior to that, she worked in medical administration for over 10 years. Kristine lives in Winnipeg, Canada, and works with the MCC UN office team remotely.
