Beginning in 2017, MCC is changing how we share about our work in education. We are no longer using the term Global Family or asking donors to choose one specific school to support.

This doesn’t mean that MCC’s education work is ending. Far from it! We continue to support community-based education programs around the world.

We are grateful to everyone who contributes to this work. Your continued support has a profound impact on the lives of students and their families and communities.

Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will this have on MCC education programs?

MCC’s work with education will continue as usual; this is only a change in how we communicate back to you about the impact of your gifts. Occasionally programs end or partners change their relationship with MCC, but phasing out your Global Family reports will not impact those decisions.

Will I still be able to give to the programs I’ve been supporting?

Yes! You can still allocate your donation toward education projects in a specific country, for example by writing “Education in Kenya” on the memo line of a check.

Hasn’t Global Family been successful?

Yes, and we are very grateful to everyone who has supported the program! We want to build on this success by expanding reporting to other programs beyond education. Your support will continue to make a profound impact on the lives of individual students, their families and their communities. We hope that your support will continue even though we no longer use the Global Family name.

This change means that more donors like you can learn about the changes their gifts make possible. Reporting at a very specific level about every MCC project, as we did with Global Family, is a very time and cost intensive process, and we are dedicated to using your resources as wisely as possible.
