oThe Powell River MCC Thrift Shop receives and sells used clothing, furniture, small appliances, housewares, books, toys, jewellery and collectibles with all proceeds designated to support the relief & development work of MCC. The shop is largely operated by volunteers (approx 110). This position requires living out your faith by serving others and advancing the mission of MCC as one relates to volunteers, customers, staff and donors.

With the guidance and direction provided by the Shop Manager, the Warehouse Manager is responsible to supervise the daily operation of the Shipping/Receiving as well as Back of House operations of the Shop promoting and implementing MCC Thrift Shop's best practices throughout the department. This involves a hands-on approach in which one is ready to provide oversight and guidance for staff /volunteers as well as to provide manual assistance to the team in receiving donated goods, in pre-sorting/assessment, in minor repair / restoration, pricing, and movement to the retail floor. Additionally, the Warehouse Manager will be called on to assist the Manager with some administrative tasks and volunteer recruitment.

The Assistant Manager is accountable to the Manager and will oversee staff as required.

This full time position involves a 5 day rotating schedule, including Saturdays.  Work hours will vary to include hours before and after operating hours depending on the day.
