By living and serving in a new setting, the SALT/YAMEN programs seek to:

• Promote a theology of service that encourages growth as global citizens active in social justice and peacemaking

• Provide opportunities for learning and mutual transformation through the development of intercultural skills

• Foster opportunities for spiritual growth, appreciation of Anabaptist values and involvement in the local and global church

• Explore and develop skills while cultivating an increased sense of vocation by serving alongside a partner organization

SALT applications are accepted each fall but only those received before February 15 are guaranteed to be considered for a placement in the same year. The earlier we receive your application, the greater your chances of being placed in your preferred assignment as we start the placement process each January and finish around late May.

YAMEN applicants must apply at the MCC office located in their home country.

SALTers are asked to fundraise a minimum contribution due before the beginning of the SALT term in August. MCC then covers all travel, food, accommodations, orientation and retreat costs, and full medical insurance. We strongly believe that finances should not deter you from serving. If you are not able to raise the minimum amount, please contact us to discuss your options.
