The coordinator position on Mexico's northern border region will play a key role in MCC’s strategies for strengthening relations with churches and civil society organizations, as well as with past, current or potential partners. This new position is created to facilitate processes of relationship-building, dialogue and coordination in favor of local initiatives, joint projects, and national or international efforts. In addition to maintaining and continuing relationships with churches and organizations in Mexico, this position also includes collaboration with MCC offices in the United States, Canada, and the Latin American region, as supervised and overseen by the MCC Mexico Representatives (Reps).

This is a position that will require seasons of much travel, but also a great deal of administrative work such as proposal design, monitoring and follow up on reports, management of MCC databases, and eventually supervision of other MCCers (Service Workers, YAMENers, SALTers).

Although a central issue in the work on the northern border is addressing the challenges of migrants in vulnerable conditions, this coordination effort also seeks to understand other social challenges by working with partners and directly or indirectly responding to the challenges of poverty, emergency response, peacebuilding and non-violence.
