Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR) is a five-day educational and experiential training that brings together restorative justice, human security, spirituality and conflict transformation to address trauma, break cycles of violence and build individual and collective resilience. From the Center for Justice & Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University, this course is for anyone whose work brings them in contact with populations dealing with historic or current trauma. 

Participants will:

  • Identify types of trauma and its impact on the body, brain, and behavior of individuals/communities
  • Learn tools and processes for addressing trauma and breaking cycles of violence
  • Explore resilience and ways to build, including self-care strategies
  • Identify ways to bring a trauma-informed perspective to your organization
