Calling all young adults (ages 18-22) from Anabaptist congregations interested in learning about a Biblical approach to peace and justice that can be applied in their everyday lives. 

Join us for a week-long Peace Camp at Amigo Centre as we explore the theme of “Responding to Violence.” Hands-on learning topics will focus on conflict transformation skills, mass incarceration, bystander training, gun violence and restorative justice, including a trip to Chicago with MCC partners working with gun violence prevention.

The base participant fee is $300. Additional contributions will support participants who are unable to pay the full fee. Scholarships are also available on a case-by-case basis.

Tentative Schedule Outline

Camp will begin on Sunday evening with dinner, group activities and campfire worship. Each day we will focus on a different aspect of responding to violence as we will hear from experts through hands-on learning. Every evening will end with a short debriefing session and campfire worship. The focus areas and rough schedule throughout the week are as follows:

Sunday:
- Arrival (5pm), get to know one another
- Worship

Monday:
- Violence vs. Nonviolence, a Biblical understanding.
- Restorative Justice
- Debrief and worship

Tuesday:
- Travel to Chicago
- Meet with grassroots organizations working in Chicago
- Gun Violence Prevention
- Debrief and Worship
- Overnight in Chicago

Wednesday:
- Racism
- Mass Incarceration
- Return to Camp
- Debrief and Worship

Thursday:
- Bystander training
- Debrief and Worship

Friday:
- Relief and Development
- Travel to Goshen, MCC Great Lakes office
- Closing
- Leave from Goshen (5pm)
