Tell Congress no to war with Iran

Please email or call your members of Congress today to let them know that you oppose military action against Iran.

Background: The U.S. assassination of a top Iranian military commander on January 3, followed by Iranian strikes on U.S. military bases in Iraq, moved the two countries perilously close to war. While the risk of immediate war has eased somewhat, tensions between the countries remain high. This has increased instability in the entire region and puts countless lives at risk.

On January 9 the House passed a war powers resolution to limit the ability of the president to carry out military action against Iran. (See how your member voted.) The Senate may vote on a similar resolution during the week of January 13. The House is also considering additional legislation to limit funds for military action and to repeal the 2002 military authorization against Iraq.

Faith reflection: As followers of the Prince of Peace, we are guided by the vision of a time when “nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more” (Isaiah 2:4).

Action: Send an email to your members of Congress or give them a call at 202-224-3121, letting them know that you oppose military action against Iran. Please take action today and share this with a friend!
