Women's Advocacy

Women's Advocacy*

The Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) U.S. Committee on Women's Advocacy believe that all women and men are made in God's image and called to do God's work. Toward that end, the purpose of MCC U.S. Women's Advocacy is two-fold: to work for the dignity and development of Mennonite and Brethren in Christ women; and to encourage mutuality and empowerment in our relationships with other women and with men. Our work includes:

  • Encouraging reflection on faith and life from the perspective of women, and supporting women's voices in the church and society.
  • Providing resources for those addressing the tragedy of family violence and sexual abuse as it occurs in the MCC constituency.
  • Coordinating the Network of Adult Survivors of Abuse.

*We changed our name from Women's Concerns to Women's Advocacy in November 2005, in order to better describe our efforts to advocate for women and ensure that their voices and experiences are heard, and to more clearly encourage men to be involved in this work.
