This documentary film (from the director of The Color of Fear) features a multiracial group of eight men and women discussing the issues of racism and sexism in the workplace. They examine the impact of society's stereotypes on their lives in the workplace, in their personal relationships, within their families and in their communities.

www.UnderstandingPrejudice.org - A project of the Social Psychology Network to be a companion to textbooks. Full of resources for students, teachers, and anyone else on prejudice - racial and otherwise. On-line assessments, history links, resource lists, exercises, sample syllabus, and more.

White Antiracist Community Action Network (WACAN.org) - An online community, with discussion board and chat rooms. Also provides a biweekly antiracism news update by email to members.

West, Traci C. "Liturgy: Church Worship and White Superiority," Ch. 4 in Disruptive Christian Ethics: When Racism and Women's Lives Matter. Louisville, Ky.: Westminster/John Knox, 2006. In this chapter, West analyzes ways that white superiority is encoded in Christian worship (in churches of various racial make-ups) and offers a few concrete examples for challenging white superiority in worship.

Potapchuk, Maggie, Sally Leiderman, Barbara Major, and Donna Bivens. Flipping the Script: White Privilege and Community Building, Silver Spring, Md., and Conshocken, Pa.: MP Associates and Center for Assessment and Policy Development, 2005. People related to organizations that are involved in "community building" or "community service" are especially encouraged to read this. Includes introductory explanations of important concepts like racism, institutional racism, and community building as well as questions for personal reflection or group discussion. Oyate - "A Native organization working to see that our lives and histories are portrayed honestly, and so that all people will know our stories belong to us." Their website has a section deconstructing myths about Thanksgiving, as well as useful sections on recommended books (and books to avoid) for children K-12. They also present workshops.

REACH Center - Specializing in strategic planning and training for cultural diversity, particularly in schools and school districts. The book by its founder, Gary Howard (We Can't Teach What We Don't Know: White Teachers, Multiracial Schools, 1999 - essential reading for white teachers), doesn't just stick with "let's all get along" multiculturalism, but asks its readers to struggle with white privilege, dominance, and identity. The REACH Center website lists resources and curriculum, as well as information about workshop and consultation services.

Specific racial justice issues

Environmental Racism - Environmental Justice Research Council. A research, policy, and information clearinghouse

Sze, Julie. Noxious New York: The Racial Politics of Urban Health and Environmental Justice. MIT Press, 2006. This carefully researched book provides a history and analysis of recent environmental justice campaigns in New York City. Studying four instances of grassroots activism the author examines how low-income communities of color organized against and fought garbage and waste facilities that would pollute their neighborhoods. She traces how people usually ignored or sidelined from corporate and government decision-making transformed their personal health experiences into political power, and used their racial and class identity as an organizing tool. Healthcare - Unnatural Causes. A documentary video series with companion website exploring how racial and socioeconomic disparities impact health. Website includes video clips, case studies, interactive features, resources, organizing suggestions, and an organizer toolkit.

Linguistic Racism - Moore, Robert B. "Racism in the English Language." A classic article on linguistic racism that has been reprinted over and over for over two decades.
