Describe two previous "cross-cultural" experiences that you have had (local and/or international). What would you suggest are two qualities a person should have in order for cross-cultural experiences to be positive?

Participants in the Shikka program will be spending three weeks with the same group of people. Have you ever spent an extended period of time away from home in a group setting?

1. If so, briefly describe that experience along with some highlights and low points. What strengths do you bring to group situations?
2. If not, why do you think your participation will be a positive experience for you and others in the group? What strengths will you bring to this group situation?

What do you hope to learn and gain through participating in the Shikka program? How will your participation in this service and learning opportunity benefit others (i.e. friends, family, church, and community)?

Upon return to Canada, Shikka participants will have the opportunity to share with others about the experience in Bangladesh, both as individuals and as a group. In what ways will you as an individual share your experiences/learning upon your return? What ideas do you have for ways the group as a whole could share the Shikka experience with others upon return to Canada?

How do you envision Shikka as part of your Christian faith journey?

Participants will be fundraising (both as a group and as individuals) to bring down the total cost of the Shikka program for each participant. What are some of your ideas for fundraising activities that could raise money and provide the opportunity for group building?
