Creation Care

Learning to live in harmony with God's creation

As the realities of climate change become known to us, we now understand the implications it will have on the poor and marginalized in our world. Despite contributing the least, the poor will bear the brunt of the negative effects of climate change. How might God be calling us to respond to this pressing issue of injustice?

In lowering the ecological footprint of our church buildings, there are simple ways your church can conserve energy. One step further, God's beautiful sun is a powerful energy source that is beaming down on our church roofs, waiting to be harnessed. With Ontario 's Standard Offer Program, producers of green energy are paid a premium price that can provide environmental and financial benefits for your church. Even better, solar panels are a powerful witness to your community that God's love extends to all of creation.

MCCO is guiding churches on the path to sustainability. Our scriptures have much to say about creation care, and MCCO's Creation Care Program Coordinator is able to provide sermons or Sunday School discussions to engage these issues.
