MCC in HaitiLatin America & Caribbean MCC promotes human rights, provides food and basic supplies and sponsors reforestation and environmental education in Haiti. In the Desarmes area, MCC supports 21 community tree nurseries. MCC gives workshops on environmental preservation for churches, schools and communities. Near Gonaives, MCC supports reforestation and environmental education in areas devastated by Tropical Storm Jeanne in 2004.

MCC caps springs to improve access to clean drinking water in rural communities, and MCC regularly provides food and basic supplies to be distributed by partner organizations. MCC workers serve with National Coalition for Haitian Rights, an organization that gives workshops on human rights and documents human rights violations. MCC supports other partner organizations that run educational programs in job training, literacy and conflict resolution. |
