In Brazil's arid northeast, MCC is helping build cisterns that can provide drinking water throughout the year. Before a cistern was built in his community, Geraldo Jorge da Silva walked long distances to fetch water with buckets suspended by a pole across the shoulders. In countries from Brazil to Bangladesh, MCC projects help families have access to safe, clean water.
