Restorative justice
When people hurt each other, relationships suffer – but they can be restored. Our restorative justice work in communities and prisons help strengthen relationships based on respect and responsibility. We teach healthy ways to respond to harm and conflict and break cycles of violence.
Racial justice
MCC’s racial equity and advocacy programs provide training to identify and resist oppressive systems of racism and colonization as well as to advocate for an end to mass incarceration. We teach about historic patterns of injustice and promote healing.
Mass incarceration
The U.S. has 5% of the world’s population and 25% of the world’s prison population. MCC walks with communities in the U.S. who have been targeted by the mass incarceration system toward healing and restoration. We work with these communities for justice, and care for those in prison.
Abuse response and prevention
Abuse such as family violence, sexual violence and clergy sexual abuse can lead to loss, fear, isolation and despair.
Offering support, accountability, education and public engagement, MCC assists those in need and works toward reducing cases of abuse. The Canada-based Abuse Response and Prevention Network offers a variety of resources addressing various types of abuse.
