View MapMCC in BrazilThrough a partner organization, MCC supports HIV/AIDS prevention education and counseling, job creation and other aid for people living with HIV/AIDS in Recife. MCC also supports a small-loan program in Recife and northeastern Brazil for farmers, shopkeepers and owners of other small businesses. MCC provides funds and workers to help families build cisterns and wells in Brazil's rural northeastern interior. MCC provides health and agriculture workers to support community development organizations in Chã Grande. MCC supports an association of artisans and an association and community of garbage recyclers in Olinda. With Global Family sponsorships, MCC supports five educational preschool and after-school programs for disadvantaged children and teenagers in the Recife area and Cabo. MCC gives conflict resolution workshops to church leaders and school teachers in the Recife area and runs an exchange program for young adult volunteers from Brazilian and U.S. or Canadian Anabaptist churches. |
