Learning about the world of MCC and the world

Each Akron Connection worker will work with his or her supervisor to develop a learning plan that will include elements from on-the-job learning to exposure to MCC’s international work.

Service Workers will be encouraged to attend MCC Executive Committee or Annual Meeting and to attend MCC chapels and brown bag lunches, which feature talks by returning workers and by guests from around the world.

All Akron Connection participants will have the opportunity to participate in Damascus Road training on anti-racism, a priority issue for MCC.

Workers will be invited to select a training option each year on an MCC priority or issue, such as a seminar on conflict medication or workshops or peace building or development, or for work-related skills, such as computer training.

MCC will also arrange for those committing to assignments of two years or more to visit an MCC program in another location in the U.S. or Canada.
